The Kindness of GOD
It has become increasingly obvious, that I will never be rich or famous in this world, but I do have a goal in life and that is to share with my friends, and anybody who will listen, the marvellous message of Salvation that is presented in the Bible.
I was always aware that I was a sinner because of Adam's sin in the garden of Eden and that I had no claim upon God, whatever. Therefore, I could expect no favour at all, from my Creator. It is, therefore, the Wonder of all wonders that God in His word is in fact proclaiming to people like me, 'the FORGIVENESS of SINS'.
You might ask "where exactly, do we find this?" - The apostle Paul explains to the audience in Acts13:38 "Be it known unto you, therefore, men and brethren, that through this Man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins, and by Him, all who BELIEVE are justified." In marvellous kindness to us, Christ took the punishment we deserved, and now, all He requires from us is to BELIEVE it.
In Ephesians2:8 the apostle Paul confirms that salvation is FREE - "For by grace are ye saved through faith and that, not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast." The moment we take in the message that 'Christ died for our sins', we are SAVED - we become the possessors of ETERNAL LIFE --- This is the reason GOD'S message is called the GOSPEL---- It is GOOD NEWS for all mankind.--- MARVELLOUS NEWS. ---- When anyone believes the GOSPEL, he or she can point to the death of Christ and say "I am a guilty sinner, but Jesus died for me."
I often wish that all my friends could see that it delights the heart of God to bestow on them the GREATEST BLESSING in life - SALVATION. ---- And this is how we get it - by putting our TRUST in Christ!
If you are asking " how can I be sure?"---- Apart from the scriptures already quoted, I find that the words of the apostle Peter in Acts10:43 provide the undisputed answer: "To HIM give all the prophets witness, that through His name WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM shall receive the REMISSION of sins." Somewhere between 1816-1878 Mary Jane Walker penned the words of a lovely hymn which might be a help to anyone who feels their need of this Salvation.
Jesus , I will trust thee
Trust thee with my soul
Guilty ,lost and helpless
Thou can'st make me whole
There is none in Heaven
Or on earth like Thee
Thou hast died for sinners
Therefore LORD for me.
There will never be a greater proof of the kindness of God than the GOSPEL message HE sent us, that HE has given His beloved SON to suffer in our place.-----
